MORE On the Greenway

To create a conduit of active transportation to and from the downtown core of Hamilton to the CIBC Hamilton Pan Am Soccer Stadium – later to be known as Tim Hortons Field after the 2015 Pan Am / Para Pan Am Games – the City of Hamilton has invested in its cycling painted infrastructure by building separate bike lanes along Cannon Street which has since become known as the Cannon Street Cycle Track. This Facility runs from Hess St. to Sherman Ave. and will double as a key connection in Ontario’s Trans Canada Trail (TCT) network, which facilitates cycling mobility throughout the province.

The Cannon Cycle Track will also be a key component of the lasting legacy left behind by the Pan Am Greenway that is to extend from Bay Front and connect the Go Centre and TCT to the new CIBC Hamilton Pan Am Soccer Stadium. The Pan Am Greenway will be a key active transportation corridor during and after the games which will connect Bayfront Park, the new GO Station at MacNab St, and the CIBC Pan Am Soccer Stadium.
